The Alkebulan Innovation Hub is the innovation and technology strategy platform of Alkebulan Investment Group, established to accelerate Africa’s transition into a digitally empowered, knowledge-based economy. With a focus on frontier technologies and systems thinking, we are building the foundations for smart governance, digital inclusion, and transformative innovation across the continent.
Through early-stage program development, strategic partnerships, and targeted research, our hub is laying the groundwork for scalable tech ecosystems that solve real-world challenges, from public service delivery and infrastructure planning to digital identity, financial inclusion, and data sovereignty.
Our Focus Areas
Emerging Technology & Applied Innovation
We are exploring practical applications of AI, blockchain, IoT, and data science to address African realities, from health system gaps and education access to supply chain visibility and climate resilience. Pilot programs and prototypes are being scoped with public and private sector collaborators.
Digital Governance & Smart Policy Design
The Alkebulan Innovation Hub is developing frameworks and toolkits to support governments in adopting e-governance, digital public infrastructure (DPI), and regulatory systems for emerging tech. We work to align innovation with institutional readiness and inclusive development goals.
Capacity Building & Talent Pipelines
Our vision includes the creation of digital academies, bootcamps, and policy labs that train African technocrats, technologists, data scientists, systems thinkers, and digital leaders, equipped to guide both public and private innovation across the continent.
Smart Cities & Urban Tech
In partnership with urban developers and local authorities, we are embedding digital infrastructure into city design, from traffic and energy management to data-enabled service delivery and urban planning tools.
Digital Inclusion & Access Infrastructure
We support strategies and solutions that close the digital divide, including device accessibility, connectivity frameworks, and inclusive user experience design, to ensure no African is left behind in the digital age.
